Huge Congrats to Brooke Botkin, Pearland Oilers (15Rox) on being named Lonestarvolleyball Newcomer of the Year.
"Playing like a veteran no matter the situation, Botkin is a big reason the Oilers went 34-10 before being eliminated by Clear Falls in the Region 3-5A regional quarterfinals.
She finished with 430 kills, 46 blocks, 25 aces and 271 digs. For her performance, Botkin was named the District 22-5A Newcomer of the Year and was a unanimous all-district selection. She also was VYPE Magazine’s Newcomer of the Year for the Houston area." - LonestarVB

AVA Alumni Annie Mitchem named 2013 Two-Year College AVCA National Player of the Year!! WOW!!

Alumni & Irvine Valley College middle blocker Annie Mitchem was
named the Two-Year College AVCA National Player of the Year. Annie was
also named Orange Empire Conference most valuable player. Annie helped
guide Irving Valley College to a memorable season. They won an Orange
Empire Conference title, ran off 24 victories in a row, were ranked No. 2
in the state and No. 1 in Southern California at the end of the regular
season.
Annie
was honored this week at the 2013 AVCA Banquet in Seattle, Washington.
Congratulations Annie we are SUPER STOKED for you!

AVA Alumni Alanna Winfield named AVCA All-American - Colorado School of Mines
Alanna Winfield, a 6-2 right side for Colorado School of Mines, is a freshman from Houston, Texas. Winfield sits second on the team with 399 kills at an average of 3.66 kills per set, which places her fifth in the conference. Also the RMAC Freshman of the Year and a Second Team All-RMAC selection, Winfield has posted double-figure kill totals in 24 of 30 matches for the Orediggers, including two matches with 20-plus kills. This is her first AVCA All-America award.
