Welcome AVA Travel Players and Parents! - Please Read from Karen Traub AVA Travel Coordinator

November 2013
Welcome AVA Travel Players and Parents!

We are looking forward to the start of our season and the start to our travels around Texas and beyond for our travel teams.  It is the policy of AVA that all players stay with their parents (or another authorized adult) for all out of town tournaments.

Many tournaments have a “Stay-to-Play” policy which means AVA is required to stay at certain hotels for the tournament.  ALL players must have their name on a room or the team will be unable to participate.  The Stay-to-Play policy actually allows AVA to get great deals on rooms that would typically be much more than the contracted price.

When there is not an official “Stay-to-Play” policy, AVA has already contracted for blocks of rooms which must be utilized by all players.  Again, the rooming lists will be reviewed and all players must be listed on a room in the designated hotels.

All hotels for the season have already been contracted.  Hotels are chosen based on availability for the club to stay together, proximity to the playing venue, price and amenities. Each player/family will be responsible for making their own hotel arrangements at the designated hotels by following the links on the website.  Coaches will notify you when the links have been posted.  All links will have a cutoff date by which rooms need to be reserved.  Each player has been allocated one room in the team block.  Should you want to request additional rooms for family members, etc., please email travel@avatexas.com .  A waiting list will be put together in the order the requests are received.  If additional rooms in the block become available, they will be allocated in the order requested.

Anyone is welcome to stay at the hotel but to receive the team rate, the reservation must be made within the block, space available.

Airfare and rental car arrangements are handled separately by each player and family.  It is important to arrive the day before play starts with enough time to get to the hotel for a team meeting if required and a good night’s sleep.  No return flights may be booked prior to 6pm of the last day of the tournament.

Should you have any questions, please email travel@avatexas.com .  Your question will be answered quickly.

Looking forward to a great travel experience,
